Stacks STX

Bitcoin-connected applications.

Stacks provides a layer for smart-contract applications connected to Bitcoin. STX is its native asset.

What is Stacks?

Stacks adds an application layer that works with Bitcoin. STX pays Stacks transaction fees and has roles in its Proof of Transfer system. STX, Bitcoin, and Bitcoin-backed assets used in applications are different assets.

STX is not Bitcoin and its price can move differently. Applications, locked tokens, and Bitcoin-backed assets introduce their own rules and risks.
