Origin Protocol OGN

Financial protocols and governance.

Origin develops blockchain-based financial products. OGN supports governance through locked staking positions called xOGN.

What is Origin Protocol?

Origin’s products include liquid staking, stablecoin, and liquidity-management services. OGN holders can lock tokens to receive xOGN, which represents governance and economic participation under the protocol’s rules. OGN is separate from product tokens such as OETH and OUSD.

Locked OGN is not immediately withdrawable. Product failures, collateral losses, contract bugs, and token-price changes can cause losses; distributions are not guaranteed.

Why people pay attention

  • Protocol products

Origin offers different financial services with distinct risks.

  • Governance

xOGN positions support voting on protocol decisions.

  • Separate positions

OGN, xOGN, and product tokens serve different purposes.

Origins & development

Origin combined its OGN and OGV governance-token arrangements in 2024 and introduced the newer xOGN staking model. This date describes that restructuring, not the project’s original launch.
