IOTA
IOTA is a feeless digital token designed for machine-to-machine payments—especially useful for the Internet of Things (IoT). Instead of a traditional blockchain, IOTA uses a structure called the Tangle, which lets devices verify each other's transactions. The more the network grows, the faster and more efficient it becomes.
A Deeper Dive

Technology & Use Case
IOTA runs on a unique system called the Tangle, not a blockchain. Every new transaction helps confirm two earlier ones. This structure lets transactions happen without fees and becomes faster as more users join. It works well for small, automatic payments between devices.
Origins & Team
Founded in 2015 by David Sønstebø, Sergey Ivancheglo, Dominik Schiener, and Serguei Popov, IOTA launched its main network in 2016. It’s maintained by the nonprofit IOTA Foundation, which aims to support developers and enterprises building next-gen IoT and data systems.
Ecosystem & Partnerships
IOTA is expanding with smart contract functionality and preparing for its next-generation upgrade called Starfish, targeting speeds up to 150,000 transactions per second. It’s also being tested on Shimmer, a temporary network used for safe feature development before releasing upgrades to the main network.
