What is Chainlink?
A smart contract cannot directly check outside information on its own. Chainlink’s oracle services help supply data and other capabilities to blockchain applications. LINK is a token used in the service network, rather than ownership of a data company.
A data connection does not guarantee an application is correct. Data choices, contract design, and the service configuration still matter.

Origins & development
