How I Rebuilt TheCryptoList.net With AI and Cut Annual Hosting Costs by $434
I now have a faster, less expensive website that does a better job of bringing my work together.

The rebuilt TheCryptoList.net connects my videos, cryptocurrency guides, articles, and book in one place. It’s easier to build on, gives visitors more ways to explore, and eliminates a Wix hosting renewal that most recently cost me $433.70 a year.
AI helped us create it. But getting there involved more than asking a chatbot to build a website.
Just ask
One of my favorite improvements is how I make changes.
If I want to add a blog post, move something on a page, include a video, or improve an explanation, I can describe what I want in plain English.
No more wrestling with fussy website-building procedures or figuring out which setting controls what. I ask, review the result, and have the changes checked and published.
There’s still work happening behind the scenes, but I can focus on the content and how I want the website to serve its visitors.
Different tools, different roles
Google AI Studio, using Gemini, was a main workspace for constructing the website. ChatGPT helped plan the work, review the results, troubleshoot problems, and make improvements.
My job was to bring the content and decide what worked for the people I wanted to reach.
That meant reviewing pages, questioning awkward wording, and pointing out things that looked confusing or didn’t behave as expected.
We built it in stages, tested it, and kept refining it.
Bringing everything together
The new site connects the different parts of TheCryptoList: cryptocurrency profiles, practical tutorials, blog posts, TheCryptoList News Weekly, and The Cryptocurrency Instruction Manual.
There are two ways to explore coins. The curated collection offers 100 profiles with plain-English explanations. Crypto List 1000 provides a broader, searchable directory using periodically refreshed CoinMarketCap information.
Visitors can also watch the featured News Weekly episode directly on the homepage or choose the listening option.

Small changes made a difference
Some of the most useful improvements came from simply using the website.
We adjusted headings, moved explanations to better locations, improved links, and checked how pages looked on phones. We made the book easier to find without turning every page into a sales pitch.
We also developed consistent branding, including reusable News Weekly artwork and a website preview image for shared links.
AI helped make those changes happen, but I still needed to decide whether the results were clear, useful, and welcoming.

Lower costs, more room to grow
The rebuilt website runs on Cloudflare, while my domain remains registered with Wix.
The current hosting setup operates within Cloudflare’s free service limits. Compared with my $433.70 annual Wix hosting payment, that removes approximately $434 from future yearly expenses.
I was already paying for ChatGPT before the rebuild, so that subscription isn’t a new expense caused by the move. Domain registration remains an ongoing cost, and extra AI credits or future hosting upgrades would be additional expenses.
The Wix hosting year I already paid for is still subject to a refund request. The savings come from avoiding future renewals.
We also established a repeatable process for publishing articles and checking updates, making it easier to keep the website moving forward.
Built around a clear purpose
This project showed me how AI can help a business owner turn ideas into something practical. The tools contributed coding and problem-solving. I supplied the direction, content, and decisions about what belonged on the site.
The goal throughout was the same: help people understand cryptocurrency at their own pace.
